Banana Elaichi

Higher in sugar and firmer in texture than Robusta — plus more concentrated vitamin C and folate.

Elaichi bananas (also called yelakki) are tiny, golden, and famously sweet — with that subtle cardamom-like aroma that gives them their name. Firmer than the Robusta variety and sweeter by a significant margin, they're the banana of choice for South Indian households, traditional prasad, and snack-time negotiations with toddlers.
