Chikoo(Sapota)

Nature's caramel candy.

A good natural source of tannins, fibre, and gentle natural sugars — traditionally used to ease digestion.

If caramel and malt had a baby and that baby was a fruit, it would be chikoo. Naturally sweet, malted, and a little grainy in the way of a good kulfi, chikoos are the Indian fruit you'd miss most if you moved abroad. Ours are tree-ripened to the ideal stage — soft enough to spoon, sweet enough to have as dessert, and unironically delicious.
